Tips For Teaching Your Kids How to Brush

Make it Fun
You can certainly sit down and lecture your child on the proper way to brush their teeth, but chances are good your child won’t learn the proper technique. Instead of lecturing your child on proper tooth brushing technique, turn it into a fun game.
- Create a silly dance that you do while brushing – make sure the dance is about 2 minutes long as that will teach your child the proper length of time they should be brushing
- Encourage your child to also brush their stuffed animal’s teeth
- Connect brushing with something your child likes – for example, brush your teeth so you can have pretty princess teeth or brush your teeth so you can have a superhero smile
Use Flavored Toothpaste as an Incentive to Encourage Brushing
It may sound silly but children love flavored toothpaste. Using your child’s favorite flavored toothpaste – or even toothpaste that features their favorite TV/movie characters – encourages a child to brush their teeth.
